Carmel Valley is a newer, master-planned community that has matured into a place where people can live, work and play. A bobcat has been spotted frequently over the last few weeks in the Pacific Highlands Ranch community of Airoso near Canyon Crest Academy.>Resident Mark Bulgarelli was walking with his dog at about 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 in a common area between the units when a large cat jumped from the bushes. He said the bobcat was the size of a medium-sized dog, clearly a lot bigger than a large house cat and reddish gray in color.
